A Quick Hungry Bite

Gigantic bottle of beer and bottled condiments. I like.

The fries here are my favorite.

Palo Verde- A Next Door Burger

Av. Santa Fe 840, Acassuso, Buenos Aires 4793 7603

A city that doesn’t usually have burger joints at every block, we’ve already discovered 4 in our neighborhood: Carlitos, Pepino, Embers and Palo Verde. Someone must have told them the north american couple was moving in with a real soft spot for a good burger.

*Even though Pepino has great outdoor seating, the burger review so far from a few people hasn’t been great. One day though, I shall find an excuse to try it for myself.

Restaurant Critic: Small local place with a small outdoor seating area; the food makes up for the missing ambiance.

Burger Critic: I secretly like this place. In my opinion, a little better than Embers, with the portion slightly bigger as well. The meat, pickles and dressings are juicier, thicker and much more flavorful. Even though they don’t serve with the typical sesame burger bun, their bun texture isn’t as dense as Carlitos. Price? 29 pesos (~$7) for a bacon cheeseburger with everything on it + fries.

  • I love their thin crunchy fries, a good change from the thick ones
  • good pickles

  • the slab of thick bacon isn’t visually appealing
